Happy Halloween!

If you're like me, you still have candy in the house, so the way I see it, I can still say Happy Halloween. Besides, if it's still Halloween, then maybe time will slow down a little. Haha, I'm not even fooling myself. I am well aware that in a blink of an eye, it'll be Christmas. Regardless, I would like to share with you the Halloween card I sent out to family and a couple friends. I figured that if I spent the time to put so many steps into creating the card front, I needed to make the inside more than basic. I liked the result.

Challenge Accepted

I so enjoy the women I'm with at CTMH Team Meetings held by my second upline. We played abit with the October Stamp of the Month - Scandinavian Wishes. I will admit, this stamp set wasn't "my cup of tea." Amazing how opinions change when you give something a try. This simple little gift tag was made by stamping the sentiment and and the border stamp as stripes on an ornament shape cut from a CTMH Cricut cartridge. A little foam tape to adhere it to kraft paper, a little baker's twine, and call it done. Making many would be quick and easy to do, while adding a special touch to gift-giving.

Cards, Cards, And More Cards!

I have plenty of scrapbook layouts to do, however, I seem to much prefer doing cards. Of course, I swore I never would do either because of all the work that goes into it. Well, here I am a card maker and a scrapbooker for about eight years now. I sure have a lot of "stuff", but what's even better is that I have some wonderful friendships because of my addiction, er... hobby. So before I get back to school, I'm creating like crazy. Some of these are originals and some, well, not so much.

First, wedding cards my daughter needs...
-the "MR and MRS" was cut from the invitation
- the botanical pressed background paper was from the invite
 - these both used up some scraps

-these I played around with some watercolor crayons

 - this one was so much fun to color in

and for my father-in-law who got a hole-in-one last week...

and my first time playing with washi tape -

and the inspiration for the above card -

Parks & Rec Summer Classes

Hello! Yeah, I finally have some time to post! Summer has been well under way, but I chose to fill it up with classes. Besides teaching Camp Invention for a week, I enjoyed doing one of my favorite things...crafting with primary-aged children. Through a Parks and Rec program, I ran 3 four-day classes - Craft Your Art Out, All Things Girly, and Happy Everything Creations (different holiday projects). Not everything was photographed, (shame on me,) but here are pics of some of our Pinterest and original creations.

Now for a couple weeks time for my own crafting! (and then, dare I say, back to school)

Happy Easter!

Hello All! Hope you had a pleasant Easter. It's different at my house now that the kids are older - no baskets, colored eggs, or even the traditional bunny cake. (My son wasn't home from college either.) So instead, I spread some Easter cheer with this card.

Happy Valentine's Day!

There doesn't need to be a special day for you to know how special you are to me. I need to tell myself and I need to tell you. I cannot survive without others. You mean the world to me and I hope I show you that in everything I do and say.
With that said, here are several creations I enjoyed doing for many friends, family and students.
First, my "swing" cards made from the Close To My Heart cricut cartridge-

And these treat boxes made from a cute kit by Close To My Heart -

Then, thanks to Pinterest, I did these for my students -

Let me end with a story that took me aback alittle today. For 8+ years now, I have done a spelling activity with my students where they are asked to form as many words as they can from the letters in HAPPY VALENTINE'S DAY. As a class we've come up with upwards of 60 words each year. This year there was a first, a word that was never made in previous years -  ipad. My, how times have changed!

It'll Be A Girl

A P.E. teacher, (that's a Phys. Ed. teacher, not an APE), at school is expecting a baby girl next month.  One of the cards I was asked to make was a baby shower card for her. Believe me when I say, my pictures do not do it justice. So, imagine something in-between...please. I was going for a baby quilt look and I just may have achieved it.

A Card Order!

I was honored to be asked to make several cards for celebrations at my school. (And even better, I was paid for my work!) Of course I put the pressure on myself to do beyond my best. Here's the wedding card I created. Check back next week, and I'll post the baby shower card.
